The Toyota Celica was manufactured by the Japanese car company for 35 years, and still today it is one of the most well loved cars the company has ever made. It went through seven generations of changes and it was, at the time, the closest thing to a sports car Toyota produced with the exception of the shorter lived Paseo. With its four cylinder engine the Celica was a very economical car to drive, and the change from rear wheel to front wheel drive in 1986 saw the sales of the Celica sky rocket. It was one of the few cars ever made by Toyota that also offered a four wheel drive version, which was referred to as an “All-trac” edition.
When Toyota discontinued the Celica in 2005, many people were disappointed. The car design was the basis for the Toyota Supra, but still to this day people are going back to the Celica model.
